If you’re a parent of young children, you might know the headache that comes with keeping the area around the toilet odor-free.
Scrubbing, cleaning and deodorizing are often not enough in the event of an accident.
Now Australian mums are sharing an unusual trick to keep the area fresh and beautiful.

On the Cleaning and Organization Inspiration Australia Facebook page, a member revealed how she renovated her smelly toilet with a box of Woolworths supermarket shaving foam.
“Three boys in the house, one two and one three,” she wrote. “Finished the first and smelled great, so now on to the second bathroom.
All you have to do is spray on and spread a generous layer of foam – the cheapest you can find at Coles, Woolworth and ALDI – around toilet and rim and leave for 10-30 minutes before wiping with a mop and warm water.
Fans say the hack works by masking the smell of urine, as well as cleaning it up from the area around the toilet.
Another mum shared her toilet transformation on the moms who clean Facebook page saying, “Thank you ladies! I left it for an hour and a half and the bathroom smells amazing right now!
“Usually it still smells musty after a scrub, so it really worked. Everything shiny and clean. And it smells good in here. So far….”
Other members were quick to voice their approval of the hack – but many warned not to let the shaving cream get harsh as it can be difficult to remove.
“Really works, it gets rid of urine smell and tile marks. Don’t let it dry out, I do mine weekly,” one wrote.

Another added: “I did this. Leaves a good smell. Did a good job on the grout around too.
A third wrote: “The only thing that takes the little smell away. It’s a must for moms with boys!”
Says one more: “It works a treat! Mom of four boys here!”
Others admitted they had “no idea” the hack existed.
“How did I not know that?” Tried it today and it works so well!” wrote one.
Another said: “I’m trying this today! I swear sometimes misses my partner more than my three year old!
