What some say may have been just a case of boredom got three New York State corrections officers into a lot of hot water. Now those prison guards could soon be out of work, because of what officials say was an impromptu haircut given to an inmate. Perhaps the term âedge upâ applies better in this case. What exactly happened? Why are these agents charged?
WNYT says Three Fulton County jail officers were arrested on Monday and charged with unlawful imprisonment and harassment after they allegedly held an inmate named Sleezer to the ground and shaved off half of his left eyebrow. Richard County Sheriff Giardino says Sleezer complained about the Nov. 25 incident. Giardino says an investigation is progressing and he will push for the three men to be fired.
Maybe 10 years ago on a college campus with voluntary enlistment, but not today and not in a correctional facility where correctional officers are sworn to uphold the law,
The inmate’s family say he was put in solitary confinement recently and told his fiancee he wanted to take legal action first. The family says the officers were playing a joke, even though Sleezer’s mother had none. There is no indication that officers shaved any other parts of his body, or that they shaved any embarrassing shapes or words on the back of his head.
In other news, a man authorities are calling a career pickpocket has allegedly struck again. But he doesn’t seem to be behind bars for long. The post office says the 65-year-old, who is known for wearing a long dark fur coat and a “stylish” hat, allegedly tried to rob a 71-year-old tourist near the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree on Friday. However, the Post says he was soon out of jail without bail the next day. Records show he was previously incarcerated in state prison, but was recently paroled in late 2019. An officer says he’s been personally arresting this same guy for more than 20 years.
You think they could lock this guy up for a while?
What are the emblematic drinks of each state?
